The Democratic Governor of California has unveiled a high challenges plan to redesign the voting lines in the most populous state in America, in order to counter the similar efforts of the Republicans in Texas.

Gavin Newsom called for special elections that are held in November, in which voters would be invited to approve the legislators restarting the congress districts before the national milieu in 2026.

He presented this decision as an emergency measure in response to a plan supported by Donald Trump in Texas, which could see the Republicans pick five other seats in the finely balanced house.

This is the latest development of a Gerrymandering struggle which covers the risk of triggering a political arms race for the control of the US Congress.

The Governor – whose mandate ends next year and would have presidential ambitions – said that she would neutralize an attempt at Trump and other Republicans to “fuck the system”.

“We work through a very transparent, temporary and public process,” said Newsom.

“We put the cards on the ballot and we give power to people.”

He continued: “We have to recognize the cards we were processed and we have to meet fire with fire.”

Newsom’s proposal would see California keep its current congresses if Texas and other states have withdrawn from any change.

The Tit-For-Tat move aims to cancel the gains provided by the Republicans in Texas if the State approves a redistribution effort requested by Trump and the Governor of the Greg Abbott.

Until now, the Republicans in Texas have been prevented from approving new cards, as democratic legislators have physically left the state, refusing to his legislative body the two thirds he needs to vote.

Abbott threatened to arrest the Democrats, who stay in Illinois, and said he would call continuous special sessions of the state legislature until the proposal is adopted.

Like other states, California generally becomes the districts of the congress once a decade when new population data is published by the American census. California faces a commission of independent citizens to do so.

The proposal to Texas to make changes in the middle of the decade has triggered a political row nationwide, because the changes could give Republicans an easier way to keep control of the American House of Representatives and prevent the challenges of Democrats with which they would be confronted under current political cards. If Democrats take control of the Chamber, this could block a large part of the Trump legislative program.

GERRYMANDERING – The restart of electoral borders to promote a political party – has been carried out by Democrats and Republicans through the United States for decades and is legal as long as it does not constitute racial discrimination, the Supreme Court judged.

Trump said that Texas was “entitled” “to redraw the cards and called on the FBI to put pressure on state democrats to go home, paving the way for a vote.

Some should go back to the state this weekend, saying that they believe that their resettlement of cross-country has contributed to generating more attention to the question on a national scale.

According to American media, some made the decision to return after seeing California’s plans to counter the new Texas cards.

Democrats in California – who elected 43 Democrats and nine Republicans in the last elections – did not publish a new detailed card, or indicated exactly the number of additional seats that they would plan to gain under changes. The newly redesigned political borders are said to be published on a map in the coming days, said the governor.

Newsom announced his plan – that he nicknamed the law on the response of the elections – with a coalition of Democratic leaders. He also called for new federal standards to prevent political interference within the limits of votes.

It is not clear if California voters will approve the plan of Newsom. Earlier this week, an investigation into the laboratory of the possibilities of politico-citrrin Center suggested that the Californians support the conservation of its independent distribution system.

Only 36% of respondents supported the Rediscussion Authority of the Congress Congress to State legislators.

Addressing Fox on Thursday, Trump called Newsom “an incompetent governor”.

He also said that he was planning to encourage the governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, to redraw state districts, so that Republicans can earn more seats.

The president said that other states had attracted “ridiculous” voting districts which have the shape of “bell snakes”.
