Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman suspended two games by NFL

The Chargers will be without starting linebacker Denzel Perryman for the remainder of the regular season.
The NFL suspended Perryman without pay Monday for two games for repeated violations of rules intended to protect the health and safety of players, including an incident during Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys.
In the second quarter, Perryman was penalized for unnecessary roughness after hitting Ryan Flournoy’s helmet while the Cowboys receiver was on the ground following a catch. The game violated a rule prohibiting the use of any part of the helmet or face mask to initiate forced contact with an opponent’s head or neck.
The suspension was upheld on appeal, the NFL announced Tuesday.
“Denzel has done a good job, a great job, of trying to take the helmet off his game. And I know he’ll continue to do that,” Harbaugh told reporters Monday.
Perryman, tied for fifth on the team with 47 tackles, will be eligible to return to the active roster on Jan. 5, following the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans and the Week 18 game against the Denver Broncos.
Etc.
Running back Kimani Vidal (neck), cornerbacks Donte Jackson (groin) and Benjamin St-Juste (shoulder), offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer (hamstring) and receiver Tre’ Harris (finger) are considered on a daily basis, Harbaugh said.
