Chelsea transfers: £60m deal agreed for João Pedro – sources

Chelsea concluded a total value of 60 million pounds Sterling ($ 82 million) for Brighton striker João Pedro, told ESPN.
The 23 -year -old had aroused Newcastle’s interest but preferred a move to Stamford Bridge and discussions with Chelsea quickly developed this week.
Sources have told ESPN that Pedro had agreed on a seven -year contract in an agreement which includes initial costs of 55 million pounds sterling with 5 million pounds sterling of additional potential modules.
The agreement also includes a clause for Brighton to receive a percentage of any future transfer costs.
Pedro will undergo a medical in the coming days with the intention of being registered in time to participate in the campaign of the World Cup of the Chelsea club.
FIFA rules dictate that up to two players can be added before the deadline on Thursday. Friday, Chelsea faces a quarter -final against Palmeiras in Philadelphia.
The Brazil striker can be included, but another new imminent signature, Jamie Gittens, cannot because he has already played for Borussia Dortmund in the group phase and is linked to the cut.
Pedro and Gittens would join Liam Delap – who signed earlier this month for 30 million pounds sterling from Ipswich Town – to reshape the line before Chelsea and increase the probability that Christopher Nkunku leaves the club.
Nkunku hoped for a move to Bayern Munich in January, but the talks broke down and the Bundesliga Club has not yet revived their interest.
