Chiefs say Patrick Mahomes tore ACL in loss to Chargers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a torn ACL in the final minutes of Sunday’s 16-13 loss to the Chargers, the team announced.
Mahomes underwent an MRI after the game which confirmed the injury. He and the Chiefs are currently exploring surgical options, according to the team.
“I don’t know why this had to happen,” Mahomes wrote on social media. “And I’m not going to lie, [it] it hurts. But all we can do now is [trust] in God and attack every day again and again. Thank you, Kingdom of Chiefs, for always supporting me and everyone who has contacted me and sent prayers. I [will] I’m coming back stronger than ever.”
