Anti-ICE Mob Descends on Downtown Los Angeles As LAPD Forced to Call Tactical Alert – RedState

Things are getting tense in downtown Los Angeles Friday night as anti-ICE protesters do it again, attacking law enforcement, whistling and throwing water bottles. Video journalist Anthony Cabassa is on site:
BREAKING 🚨: Chaos sets in as protests turn violent. Water bottles and rocks were thrown at the retreating federal agents, protesters were pepper-sprayed as the agents tried to maintain control.

Los Angeles police declared a tactical alert after protesters refused to disperse.

Federal authorities are recovering debris, bottles and other items. Federal authorities declared an unlawful assembly at the detention center and deployed pepper balls and tear gas.
CNN and Democratic politicians will probably describe this as a “non-violent” protest, but they will say that to the people getting hit with water bottles:
Authorities shut down protests in downtown Los Angeles over what the Los Angeles Police Department called “violent agitators.”
On social media, the LAPD said federal officials “declared an unlawful assembly” and used pepper balls and tear gas to disperse protesters gathered for the national “ICE Out” day of protest.
[…]Aerial footage from Sky5 shows police setting up skirmish lines to push back protesters.
Earlier in the evening, things seemed to calm down – only to quickly heat up again.
At around 6:15 p.m., police “continued to enforce the dispersal order after the dispersal order was issued, however, protesters continued to stay and threw bottles and rocks at the officers,” they said.
A few minutes later, the police clarified that “the demonstrators are actively fighting with the police after several dispersal orders were issued” and that non-lethal weapons were being used “due to the violence against the police.”
It doesn’t seem like they’re paying attention to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass:
Peaceful protest is a constitutional right. I urge Angelenos to exercise this right safely and not give this administration an excuse to escalate.
Los Angeles stands together.

For Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters (CA-23), who in 2018 encouraged her supporters to publicly confront and harass Trump administration officials, there’s nothing to see here:
Los Angeles, CA – I asked Rep. Maxine Waters what she thought about the protest turning violent, with several protesters and federal agents injured. She responded that she had not seen any violence.
She has just left the demonstration. pic.twitter.com/LridH0e6YH

Although the LAPD claims things are calming down at this hour, video is still being released showing many angry protesters continuing to create chaos:
BREAKING 🚨: Chaos, as the LAPD fires less than lethally into the crowd, several members of the media were hit, including me. The police shot me in the legs as I walked away from the police line, and when I turned around, they shot me twice in the stomach, but it was not fatal. pic.twitter.com/2fqLzKNXom
