Alec Baldwin’s lawsuit against New Mexico officials dismissed

A New Mexico judge rejected Alec Baldwin’s trial alleging that he had been mischievously prosecuted – a year after the actor’s producer was authorized for a criminal accusation in the death of “rust” from the director of the film.
Baldwin said in a trial in January that he had been the victim of overly zealous prosecutors of the New Mexico and the police. Baldwin said he had become the scapegoat for state celebrities for accidental filming in terms of photography director Halyna Hutchins.
The trial intervened six months after a judge rejected the manslaughter homicide in which Baldwin had been confronted.
Former judge of the 1st Mexico Judicial Court, Mary Marlowe Sommer, ended the Baldwin trial last July after learning that prosecutors retained the potential evidence of the Baldwin legal team.
The Baldwin subsequent trial targeted the special prosecutor Kari T. Morrissey, 1st judicial dist. Atty. Mary Carmack-Altwies, deputies of the sheriff of the County of Santa Fe and commissioners of the County of Santa Fe.
The accused were “blinded by their desire to condemn Alec Baldwin for all bad reasons and, at all costs,” said his trial.
Another judge on Tuesday rejected Baldwin’s complaints against the state, citing a lack of activity in the case.
Third dist. Judge Casey B. Fitch wrote that it had been six months since any “important action” had been filed in the case of Baldwin. Fitch gave lawyers 30 days to file a request to maintain the moving trial.
The decision comes as the legal proceedings of the “rust” shooting saga ends.
In May, Hannah Gutierrez weapons manager was released from prison after serving 14 months for her conviction for manslaughter in the death of October 2021 of Hutchins on the set of the New Mexico.
The Baldwin affair was rejected a year ago by a Marlowe Sommer, who has since retired, on what was supposed to be on the third day of the actor’s large -scale trial.
Instead, his defense lawyers have raised serious questions about how law enforcement agents and new-mexic prosecutors dealt with evidence when they rose their prosecution.
Baldwin lawyers have accused the state of misconduct, pointing out a batch of unaminished bullets that a potential witness went to the sheriff’s investigators in March 2024. Marlowe Sommer seemed furious against the manipulation of the evidence, which was not given to the defense, and rejected the single accusation against Baldwin.
Earlier this year, when Baldwin’s prosecution was filed, Morrissey said prosecutors have long since he had been aware of Baldwin plans to continue the New Mexico. She added: “We look forward to our day in court.”
