Collin Sexton trade: Hornets land Jazz guard, future draft pick for Jusuf Nurkić

Utah Jazz exchanged goalkeeper Collin Sexton and a second round of 2030 at the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for the big man Jusuf Nurkić, the teams announced on Sunday. Sexton has spent the last three seasons in Utah and will play for his third NBA team next season.
Sexton, 26, collected an average of 18.4 points, 4.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds during the 2024-25 season. With the jazz that selects the Rutgers Star Bailey goalkeeper and Florida All-American Walter Clayton Jr. Florida Cardien in the first round of the NBA 2025 earlier this week, he made UTAH more likely to keep Chanton or the goalkeeper Jordan Clarkson this offseason to open more minutes for the new rookies and the rest of his young kernel.
The Hornets acquired Nurkić, 30, on the commercial deadline for last season of the Phoenix Suns. The Suns exchanged Nurkić and a choice of first round in 2026 in the Hornets for Cody Martin, Vasilije Micic and a second round choice in 2026. Nurkić appeared in just 25 games for the Suns last season before he was exchanged in Charlotte.
In total, Nurkić appeared in 51 games for Charlotte and Phoenix and collected on average 8.9 points and 7.8 rebounds. For his career, he has an average of 11.8 points and 8.8 rebounds on 50.1% of the field.
