Columbia Clamps Down On ‘Hateful Language’ Against Jews As Trump Admin Deal Reportedly Closes In

The University of Columbia announced Tuesday that it would redefine anti -Semitism and implement several other policy changes in response to the repression of the Trump administration against university campuses.
Ivy League University said that it would adopt the international definition of anti -Semitism of anti -Semitism of the Holocaust Holocaust Alliance, which effectively classifies criticism from the State of Israel as anti -Semitic discourse. Several sources have indicated that Columbia approached an agreement with the Trump administration after months of negotiations following the violent pro-Palestinades of the School in 2023.
The new guidelines to classify acts as anti -Semites include “the manufacture of monthly, dehumanizing, diabolizing or stereotypical allegations about the Jews” such as suggesting “the Jews controlling the media, the economy, the government or other societal institutions” and “refuse Jewish people their right to self -determination”. Deny the Holocaust or any aspect of the event, including the accusation of the Jews or Israel to have exaggerated any part of it, is also classified as anti-Semitic.
“Accusing Jewish citizens of being more faithful to Israel”, “making comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis” and “holding the Jews collectively responsible for the actions of the State of Israel”, are also prohibited under the new guidelines.
Columbia and the Department of Education did not respond to the request for comments from the Daily Call News Foundation.

“Our work towards an agreement with the federal government has highlighted many difficult questions concerning the discrimination and harassment that we have seen on our campuses,” we read in the community of Columbia. “There is no room for intimidation, hateful language or targeting of Jews or Israelis in Colombia, and we have no tolerance for this behavior.”
The additional policies adopted by Columbia include hiring coordinators to ensure that the University is in accordance with the civil rights law and to extend its required training for anti -Semitism for students and staff. The University will send regular community messages clearly indicating its “zero tolerance for anti -Semitism and hatred”.
Columbia also said that he would not accept any meeting or negotiating with anti-Israeli groups, a decision that the University Barnard College has already accepted in early July to settle a trial. “In a recent discussion, a member of the faculty and I have agreed that anti-Semitism in this institution existed, perhaps less openly, for a long time, and that the demolishing work, in particular by education and understanding, will take time,” concluded the press release. “This will probably require more reform.”
Negotiations between Columbia and Trump administration have been continuing since March, when the administration has announced that it revoked $ 400 million from school due to its inability to respond to countless anti-Israeli incidents on campus. Demonstrations against Columbia culminated in several arrests and included the deposit of a building on the campus, during which an employee of the university was allegedly held hostage. Many students were not punished until more than a year later.
The university administrators were even accused of having attracted the flames when private messages have surfaced revealing that they said that they were “inspired by the students” and that we “hope that we can obtain incredible victories for them.
The school has since promised compliance with the requests of the administration, although the Ministry of Education has suggested that the school should always lose its accreditation.
