Columbia University’s president Claire Shipman says federal agents, who detained a student from Azerbaijan, misrepresented themselves to gain access to a residential building by claiming they were looking for a missing child. Federal officials say the apartment’s building manager let officers into the building and that all agents identified themselves. The detained student has since been released.
