Vladimir Putin praised his relationship with Donald Trump, referring to his “sense of humor” despite the American president who recently criticized his Russian counterpart.
Putin told journalists that he and Trump were “first name”, and that during the negotiations in the past four days during his trip to China, he had heard no negative judgment on the current American administration.
“The President of the United States is not clearly without a sense of humor, we all know it well,” Putin told Beijing on Wednesday where he attended the Chinese military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
The comments followed Trump’s social media publication that Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong, a plotted against the United States and a comment in a television interview that he was “disappointed” in the Russian president.
