Conservatives’ Baby-Making Ways Set Country Up For Bright Future

The White House is in a veritable baby boom.
Second lady Usha Vance, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Katie Miller, wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, are all pregnant. This will be Vance’s fourth child, Leavitt’s second and Miller’s fourth. White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair and his wife, Sam, are to expect a baby arrives in March, according to Louise Perry, writing for the Wall Street Journal.
Perry notes a partisan gap in birth rates: “Conservatives have more children than liberals. They are also more likely to marry and marry younger. While Democrats are increasingly the party of the childless, Republicans are increasingly the party of parents.”
“A recent Financial Times analysis indicates that conservatives in developed countries are having almost as many children as they did a few decades ago. It is on the progressive left that the birth rate is falling. Something about conservatives makes them resistant to the depopulation effect, at least for now,” Perry continues. In the United States, the partisan gap in birth rates emerged sometime before 1980, according to John Burn-Murdoch, columnist and chief data reporter for the Financial Times. Trends are downward for both conservatives and progressives, but the birth rate among progressives has plunged below replacement level.
NEW: Progressives have a birth rate problem
Despite all the talk about a general decline in births, this decline is essentially due to the fact that people on the left are having fewer children.

Marriage rates have fallen since the 1980s among both sexes and both parties. But marriage holds up better among conservatives.
About 60% of conservative women ages 25 to 35 have already married, says the Institute for Family Studies, based on data from 1980 to 2024 from the General Social Survey. About 44% of liberal women aged 25 to 35 have already married. Among conservative men aged 25 to 35, about 57% have already married. Among liberal men of the same age, about 35% have already married.
Marriage between a man and a woman, despite all the efforts of liberal social engineers, remains the best basis for raising children. Even women with “open” opinions on the issue may be personally reluctant to give birth to a stranger’s child or that of a boyfriend.
The left’s anti-natalist and anti-family messages likely drive some otherwise strong-willed women away from marriage and motherhood. Other women might use these ideological excuses to avoid what they see as a frightening and tedious undertaking.
Then there’s the positive feedback loop in left-wing circles: we’re exposed to fewer marriages and children, so getting married and having a baby seems a more remote possibility. The reverse contagion effect could be at work in the White House.
The left openly despises the family. They’ve been doing this for a while. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels called abolish the “current family, the bourgeois family”, belittling the so-called radicals who grimaced at this idea. Marx and Engels accuse bourgeois parents of exploiting their children, the bourgeois husband of exploiting his wife.
Then came World War II, presented by some as definitive proof of the evil of all center-right politics.
Where does the enormous Republican advantage in fertility come from?
Conservatives are willing to talk unapologetically about the value of children, starting at the top.
This probably does more to increase the birth rate than any policy, but most liberals just don’t talk about procreation. https://t.co/7b8ObwYKJD pic.twitter.com/xuJhEeCTH3

Beginning in the late 1960s, Germany authorized and financed the intentional placement of “neglected children in foster homes run by pedophiles.” according to Rachel Aviv, writing for the New Yorker. This, at the request of “sexologist” Helmut Kentler, an openly homosexual man who believed that sexual contact between children and adults was harmless. Kentler had three adopted sons and one adopted son.
“Kentler’s career was marked by his belief in the damage wrought by controlling fathers… Like many of his contemporaries, Kentler came to believe that sexual repression was the key to understanding fascist consciousness… The trials of twenty-two former Auschwitz officers had revealed a common personality type: ordinary, conservative, sexually inhibited, and preoccupied with bourgeois morality,” Aviv writes. Consider the 1950 sociology book, “The Authoritarian Personality,” which suggested that a child subjected to too much discipline and structure (especially from his father) could become an authoritarian.
“In the late 1960s, educators in more than thirty German cities began creating experimental daycare centers, where children were encouraged to be naked and explore each other’s bodies,” Aviv continues.
She then quotes historian Dagmar Herzog: “There is no doubt that they were trying (in a desperate sort of neo-Rousseauian authoritarian anti-authoritarianism) to remake German/human nature. »
For Marx, Engels and Kentler, the family was an obstacle to the reproduction of their left-wing worldview.
For the modern, antinatalist left, the problem of reproducing its worldview is particularly difficult. An antinatalist movement is difficult to maintain, by its very nature. Consider the Shakers, a Christian sect founded in the mid-18th century. Procreation was prohibited. Therefore, there are approximately three living Shakers. They had to recruit through other means – conversion and adoption mainly.
Likewise, modern leftists swell their ranks through education. Indoctrination could begin as early as kindergarten. You’re never too young to learn that your parents are fascists.
