Thursday evening, President Trump announced new prices and a new deadline. For weeks, the administration said that new, more difficult rates come into force on August 1 – instead, most countries would not see new prices hindering for at least a week.

Meanwhile, new figures from the Labor Department show that employment growth has slowed down this spring, while President Trump’s previous world prices have started to bite. Shortly after their release, Trump said that he was drawing the head of the government agency who had produced this report.

The correspondent for the White House, Danielle Kurtzleben, and the economic correspondent Scott Horsley discuss the consequences of Trump’s prices so far.
