Harry Kane is one of the strikers Barcelona are interested in as they prepare to enter the market to sign a goalscorer in 2026.

The La Liga champions have been gathering information on the situation of the 32-year-old Bayern Munich superstar but are yet to take any action at this time.

Kane has a 65 million euro release clause in his contract with the German champions, and he has one month to inform the club if he wishes to activate this clause for the summer.

As reported earlier this week, Kane has no plans to do so, with his plan being to continue with Bayern Munich.

Barcelona don’t throw in the towel

However, according to SPORT, Barcelona have not given up their pursuit of Kane and are monitoring his situation closely.

Kane does not plan to activate his release clause at this stage as he feels comfortable at Bayern and believes a solid project has been built to compete for all titles.

At the same time, he expects a gesture from the Bavarian giants in the form of a renewal offer. His contract expires in 2027 and the club has not yet made a move, although the player is asking for an extension of at least two years.

It is true that Kane is currently prioritizing staying at Bayern, but it is also true that those around him have explored possible future options. One of these investigations concerned Barça.

According to the report, the key issue is the length of the contract. Kane is 32 and wants long-term stability, so Bayern should offer him at least two more years, taking him until 2029. That’s far from guaranteed.

Barça are monitoring events closely and have not yet decided on their preferred candidate to occupy the No.9 position from next season. If Kane renews, his name will be removed from the list and the club will work on other options.

Julian Alvarez is the favorite, but he would cost at least 150 million euros – a price Barca consider too high.
