A man from Florida, who brutally assassinated the sister and the parents of his distant wife before setting their house on fire, is planned for the execution under a death mandate signed by the Republican Governor Ron Desantis, marking the 12th record execution planned in the state this year.

Friday, David Pittman, 63, is expected to respond to his fate.

The previous summit for annual executions in the recent history of Florida was eight in 2014, since the reintegration of the death penalty in 1976 by the United States Supreme Court. All of the United States saw a total of 28 executions in 2025, already exceeding the 25-year count of last year. This linked with 2015, when 28 individuals were also put to death.

Pittman was found guilty and sentenced to death in 1991 for three first degree murder leaders, according to court documents. The jury also found him guilty of criminal fire and theft.

In May 1990, in the middle of a divorce from his wife, Marie, Pittman visited the house of the County of Polk of her parents, Clarence and Barbara Knowles. The officials report that Pittman diedly stabbed the couple and their younger daughter, Bonnie.

He then set fire to the house and stole the car from Bonnie Knowles, which he also burned down. A witness stressed Pittman while the individual fleeing the fiery vehicle.

An informant in prison also took a position, saying that Pittman had confessed to the murders. The Florida Supreme Court has already set a date to hear a call.

It is also expected that a call will be filed with the Supreme Court of the United States. Florida also leads the nation to the number of driving behind the scenes with 30 prisoners released after unjustified convictions, highlighting the concerns about the reliability of the system.
