FBI issues urgent update on mystery abduction of Savannah Guthrie’s mom, 84, after sheriff admits ‘we’re stumped’

AUTHORITIES have given a grim update on their search for Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy, as the sheriff admits his department is completely stumped.
Local and federal officials had little to share with reporters on Tuesday, after spending days looking for the 84-year-old woman who they fear was abducted from her bed.
Special Agent Jon Edwards insisted the FBI is doing “everything in our power to bring Nancy Guthrie home to her family,” and said he’s supporting the Pima County Sheriff’s Office however it can.
“We’re downloading and analyzing cellphones, obtaining cell tower information, conducting interviews, and providing any and all investigative support that the sheriff’s department needs,” he said.
Sheriff Chris Nanos then boldly admitted “we’re stumped,” telling reporters they aren’t pursuing any strong leads, and had no surveillance videos capturing a suspect.
“We are working as far as we go,” he said.

What we know about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance…
He said all of the DNA samples they obtained from Nancy’s Tucson, Arizona, home belonged to Nancy, and “there is nothing there” that could identify a suspect.
“What we’ve gotten back from the labs is more exactly what you would expect, samples of those who live at the residence,” he said.
After giving a few discouraging answers, the sheriff said he would plan on providing another update in two or three days.
Investigators believe Nancy disappeared in the early hours of Sunday morning after she was dropped off by her family on Saturday evening.
Her family called 911 on Sunday afternoon after a parishioner at Nancy’s church said she never showed up for morning service.
Edwards made it clear that they needed help from the public and asked residents living in the area to come forward if they had seen something concerning
“Every lead and tip is important,” he said.
“We’re aggressively pursuing and looking into every single one. Again, please help us bring Nancy Guthrie home.”
President Trump has said he will deploy federal law enforcement resources to assist search efforts.
“I’m going to call her later on,” Trump said.
“I think it’s a terrible thing. I always got along very good with Savannah.”

MYSTERY DEEPENS
Nanos previously said the motive behind the crime remains a mystery, explaining that he doesn’t think the abductor would ask for a ransom.
“I wish somebody would call us and say, ‘Hey,’ because that’s what the family wants,” he told US Weekly.
“They just want her back. ‘Hey, no questions asked, call us where to come and get her, and we’ll do that.”
The sheriff has noted Nancy suffers from physical ailments – including high blood pressure and cardiac issues – which require her to take daily medication, and that skipping a dose could have fatal consequences.
Investigators said her iPhone, wallet, Apple Watch, and car were all left untouched by the sick abductor, raising more questions about the nature of the crime.
There are signs of forced entry, and a dripping trail of blood was seen outside, ending where the home’s front door meets the driveway, according to reports.
However, the blood spatter is light and could be from a nose bleed, an inside source told Fox News.
Savannah has taken a step back from her anchoring duties, and flew to Arizona to help with the search.
In a statement shared to her social media on Monday, she asked followers for prayers.
“We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she wrote.
“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant.
“Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.”
