D.C. Police to Work with ICE After Trump’s Takeover

Washington, DC, longtime jurisdiction of the sanctuary, will now cooperate with immigration and customs application (ICE) in several ways only a few days after President Donald Trump took federal control of the city’s metropolitan police (MPD) to combat violent crimes.
This week, Trump invoked article 740 of the Columbia district law to take control of the MPD and activated the National Guard to combat growing violent crimes and an increase in the rate of murder in the national capital.
Watch – Trump invites the media to DC police to see first -hand crime:
On Thursday, the Tsar Tom Homan border suggested in Fox News that DC would no longer impose its sanctuary city policies under federal control – policies that prevented the MPD from transforming illegal criminals to ice agents.
“I think that DC under federal control will not be a sanctuary city,” said Homan. “We work with the police hand in hand, and when we meet a criminal and illegal foreigner, they will be put back in ice, and that is how it should be.”
Indeed, the police chief Pamela Smith published a note On Thursday, MPD officers can share information with ice on illegal foreigners who are not in police custody and ensure the transport of ice agents and illegal foreigners.
However, the memo clearly indicates that MPD officers are forbidden to hold illegal criminal foreigners in DC prison so that ice agents can take care.
Last year, the Immigration Reform Institute (IRLI) published a report declaring that DC, under the mayor Muriel Bowser (D), is one of the most blatant sanctuary cities in the country.
