The FBI has reduced all links with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), director Kash Patel announced on Friday.

Patel said that the “hatred card” and the partisan activism of the SPLC have returned the group unfit for the partnership, the Daily signal reported. The SPLC, a left -wing militant group based in Alabama, is best known to label traditional conservative and religious organizations such as “hate groups”. “The Southern Poverty Law Center has long abandoned civil rights work and has transformed itself into a partisan fridge machine,” wrote Patel on X. “Their so-called hatred card” was used to defame traditional Americans and even inspired violence. This shameful file makes them inappropriate for any partnership of the FBI. “

Patel highlighted the remarks he made in April during a working group from the Ministry of Justice on anti -Christian biases, where he promised the FBI “will never rely on politicized or focused information on the agenda of external groups – and certainly not the SPL”.

The SPLC had added Turning Point USA (Tpusa) to its “hatred card” a few months before the founder Charlie Kirk was murdered.

Reuters reported that the SPLC had listed Turning Point USA on its card as recently as Friday afternoon, but a daily review of calls revealed that the group did not currently appear in the SPLC public database, and the organization has made no announcement of its deletion.

The SPLC did not respond to the caller’s repeated requests to comment if Turning Point USA had been deleted from the card and, in the affirmative, why.

An FBI official told the signal that the office was aware of TPUSA’s inclusion on the SPLC card before filming. The office also confirmed that it did not maintain contact or share information with the group.

The SPLC, which for years qualified Tpusa as an extremist and linked to white nationalism – despite Kirk’s repeated rejection of these points of view – published a statement after his assassination urging civility and the warning that “violence only alleviates the division”.

The authorities say that a leftist suspect – whose significant other would have been transgender – killed Kirk at the University of Utah Valley, only a few months after the SPLC placed TPUSA on its “hatred card”. On Friday, the FBI broke its long -standing partnership with the SPLC – the second division of this type this week, after having also reduced links with the anti -division league (ADL) to label Tpusa on its “center of extremism”.

In 2012, Floyd Lee Corkins II entered the Washington, DC of the Family Research Council, the head office and opened fire, injuring a security guard before being moderate. Corkins later declared to the FBI that he had chosen the objective after seeing the organization on the “hatred card” of the SPC, where the Christian group was listed since 2010 to oppose homosexual marriage and related questions, according to a 2015 Washington Post report.

The FBI did not immediately respond to the appellant’s request for comments.
