Trump Urges Boycott of ‘Dried Up Prune’ Bruce Springsteen

(AFP) Donald Trump on Thursday asked his supporters to boycott Bruce Springsteen in an angry speech against the rock icon who has emerged as a fierce critic of the American president’s often harsh crackdown on immigration.
Calling Springsteen “a dried-up prune who suffered greatly from the work of a very bad plastic surgeon,” Trump said his right-wing supporters should stay away from the singer’s concerts.
The shows are “overpriced” and “sucky,” Trump, 79, wrote on his site Truth Social in a post filled with insults and boasting about his record as president.
Springsteen, a major figure in American rock for more than half a century and winner of 20 Grammys, has spoken out openly against Trump’s attempt to carry out mass expulsions of undocumented migrants.
These raids, often carried out by masked agents, have sparked widespread anger but are popular among Trump’s right-wing base.
On Saturday, Springsteen headlined a “No Kings” rally in the northern city of Minneapolis, months after the city became a protest hotspot. Organizers estimate that around 200,000 people attended the event.
In January, the veteran singer released his song “Streets of Minneapolis” in response to the crackdown, in which masked immigration agents shot and killed two protesting U.S. citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Springsteen’s song refers to immigration agents as “King Trump’s private army.”
