Once more comes a statement from Iran that we can only file under the category of their “mouth writing checks their butts can’t cash.” In the latest superheated gaseous emission from the Islamic Republic, an Iranian military official is promising to fight “until complete victory.”
Yeah, good luck with that.
An Iranian military spokesman defiantly vowed Tuesday that Tehran’s armed forces will fight “until complete victory,” despite suffering heavy losses from the joint U.S. and Israeli campaign.
The remark from Maj. Gen. Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi of the Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters, which is Iran’s top military command, comes after President Donald Trump paused planned U.S. strikes on Iran on Monday, citing diplomatic progress.
“Iran’s powerful armed forces are proud, victorious and steadfast in defending Iran’s integrity, and this path will continue until complete victory,” Iranian state television quoted Aliabadi as saying, according to The Associated Press. It added that Aliabadi did not say what “complete victory” would look like.
Let’s deconstruct that last statement:
“Iran’s powerful armed forces are proud, victorious and steadfast…” Corrected, that should read “Iran’s former armed forces are horrified, defeated, and in an utter shambles. They have scattered like cockroaches when the kitchen light is turned on.”
And as for that last statement from General Aliabadi, what “complete victory” looks like is something that is essentially impossible. They have nothing left to win with.
Operation Epic Fury, which started Feb. 28, has resulted in the destruction of or damage to more than 140 Iranian naval vessels, U.S. Central Command said Monday. In total, more than 9,000 combat flights have been conducted as part of the campaign.
“CENTCOM forces are striking targets to dismantle the Iranian regime’s security apparatus, prioritizing locations that pose an imminent threat,” CENTCOM said.
Targeted assets include Iranian navy ships and submarines, air defense systems, anti-ship missile sites, military communication infrastructure and facilities involved in ballistic missile and drone manufacturing.
The only victory will be on the side of the United States and Israel.

This isn’t a close battle. It never was. CENTCOM and Israel have wiped Iran’s air force out of the skies. We own the skies over Iran. By Day Two, Iranian pilots were looking at their aircraft and seeing coffins; by Day Four, their aircraft were junk. Iran’s navy, which was never that much of a much to begin with, is now providing habitat for bottom-dwelling fish. Their military infrastructure has been reduced to rubble. What Iran has left are a few thousand fanatics with AKs, and that’s just not going to work against two national leaders with the finest in high-tech military hardware and the willingness to use it with abandon. Not when our logistics are essentially unlimited, and our aircraft are launching from bases well outside Iran’s reach – and from aircraft carriers for which Iran has no counter.
What this statement from an Iranian general means is this: This is for domestic consumption. Most of all, it’s for the few remaining Iranian armed forces members. General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi is blowing smoke up the fourth points of contact of the few scattered service members Iran has left, and in so doing is showing his willingness to kill them all.
There’s another thing: This statement, even as we have reports that Iranian representatives are negotiating to try to bring this to an end, indicates that the regime’s civil government may well have lost control of the military. That’s another compelling sign that the regime is in the throes of collapse, and most of all, that tells us what to keep hitting.
