Democrat Rep Booted From Trump’s 2025 Speech Returns To Harass Congress With Sign

Democratic Texas Rep. Al Green walked around the House floor Tuesday with a large sign during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.
The sign read, “BLACK PEOPLE AREN’T APES” around the House floor, which referenced the White House’s artificial intelligence (AI) video that depicted former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes. Republican congressmen responded to Green by repeatedly chanting, “USA!” (RELATED: Dem Who Failed To Make 3 Trump Impeachments Stick Gives It Another Shot)

Green was kicked out of Trump’s previous State of the Union address in March 2025 when he disrupted the president’s speech. The House censured Green for his behavior in a 224 to 198 vote, which included 10 Democrats.
The AI video in question was posted to Trump’s Truth Social account on Feb. 5 and remained online for about 12 hours before being taken down. The video, set to the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” depicted the Obama’s, Trump and other Democrats as jungle animals.
Trump said he did not know that the video depicted the Obama’s as apes until it was already posted.
Green filed articles of impeachment against Trump in December in connection to Trump’s response to six Democratic lawmakers’ video calling on military members to refuse illegal orders, calling Trump’s response “a reckless and flagrant abuse of Presidential power.” The House overwhelmingly tabled the articles in a 237 to 140 vote, with 47 Democrats voting “present.”
The congressman also filed articles of impeachment in Feb. 2025, citing his announcement that the U.S. would take over the Gaza Strip in order to end the Israel-Hamas war.
