Palestinian gunmen kill six people in attack on Jerusalem bus stop

Jerusalem – The Palestinian armed men opened fire to a bus stop in Northern Jerusalem on Monday, killing six people and injuring several others, including a pregnant woman, according to officials. The attack targeted a location on a road that leads to East Jerusalem.
The Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) said that five people had been killed during the shooting attack, but Israeli foreign minister Gideon Saar, speaking later during a visit to Hungary, said six people had been killed and that a pregnant woman was among the injured.
Police said two armed men had also been killed. The MDA said earlier that seven people had been left in a serious state, but it was not clear if this number had changed because the number of deaths had gone from the first four to the Saar.
The dead included a man “about 50 years and three men aged 30,” according to the MDA press release, who added that he provided medical treatment to several of the injured.

The at the end of the morning attack took place at the Ramot Junction on Yigal Street, said a previous declaration by MDA.
“A painful and difficult morning. Civilians, women, innocent men and children were brutally murdered and injured in cold blood in a bus in Jerusalem by vile and bad terrorists,” said Israeli president Israeli Isaac Herzog in a social media position. “Faced with this barbarism, we have seen acts of extraordinary heroism which still prevented an innocent loss of life.
This shocking attack reminds us once again that we fight absolute evil. The world must understand what we are facing and this terror does never have a stronghold. “”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting to assess the situation after the shooting, said his office.
Hamas, the United States and the designated terrorist organization War with Israel in Gaza For almost two years, welcomed the attack, saying that it had been carried out by two Palestinian activists.
“We affirm that this operation is a natural response to the crimes of the occupation and to the genocide which it leads against our people,” said Hamas in a statement.
“The wounded were lying on the road and the sidewalk near a bus stop, some of which are unconscious,” said Paramedic Fadi Dekaidek, who was on the scene, in a statement provided by the MDA.
Police said the attackers had opened fire on a bus stop after arriving in a vehicle.
“A security officer and a civilian civilian responded immediately, returned fire and neutralized the attackers,” they said in a statement.
Speaking on Israel Channel 12, a police spokesman said two attackers were involved, with the force later confirming that the two had been declared dead on the scene.
The shooting was one of the deadliest incidents of this type since the war in Gaza was launched by the terrorist attack on the Hamas orchestra, on October 7, 2023 against Israel, which resulted in the death of more than 1,200 people, mainly civilians, according to Israeli officials.
Israel’s reprisal offensive in Gaza has killed at least 64,368 PalestiniansMost of them civilians, according to figures provided by the Ministry of Health in Gaza managed by Hamas, that the United Nations consider the most reliable information available.
