Third person dies at Disney resort in Florida over past two weeks

A man died Thursday at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, marking the third death at the dream resort in two weeks.
The deceased man was identified as Matthew Cohn, according to the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of his death had not yet been determined.

A TikTok user shared footage of police cordoning off the Disney World hotel: “We woke up this morning to VERY heavy police outside our balcony at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower.
“We were told it was a “medical emergency.” Prayers to the family and those involved! »
One comment added more details about the situation: “They also knocked on our door and told us not to look out the window and that there was a medical emergency.
“I didn’t hear or confirm anything because we left to go to the parks shortly after. Sad situation all around for everyone involved.

This is the third death at Disney World in two weeks
The Contemporary Resort was one of the first hotels to open at Disney World and is known for its 1970s decor.
On October 14, Summer Equitz, 31, committed suicide at the hotel.
The Daily Mail has learned that Equitz gave birth to a baby girl earlier this year and is likely suffering from postpartum depression.
Before his death, a post created by an apparent family member and circulated on Reddit urged people to call authorities if they spotted Equitz at the Disney park.
The post states that Equitz booked a trip to Florida from his home in Naperville, Illinois, without informing his family members.
Her LinkedIn profile indicated that she was a nanny who previously worked for Disneyland Resort in California as a character performer and entertainment host from 2012 to 2015.
Equitz, married to Nico Danilovich, celebrated her honeymoon at Disney World last October.
She had also shared photos of herself at Disney theme parks, including a photo alongside Disney CEO Bob Iger.
This is the third death reported at Disney World in recent weeks, following the news of the death of 31-year-old Summer Equitz on October 14.

Equitz captioned the photo with Iger: “My life has reached its peak.”
A spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office denied online rumors that Equitz was struck by the Contemporary Resort’s iconic monorail train at the time of her death.
The monorail transports guests around the park and through the hotel lobby.
A Disney World guest also died Tuesday, making three deaths in less than three weeks.
A man in his 60s whose name was not immediately released was rushed to the hospital after suffering a medical episode at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
He was reportedly staying with his wife at the resort, where she found him unconscious in his bed when she returned to their room.
He died at the hospital at 8:26 a.m. and there were no signs of foul play, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Daily Mail has contacted Disney World for comment.
