Amazon sells MOBA March of Giants to Ubisoft

Ubisoft dives deeper into MOBAs after purchase Giants Walk of Amazon and acquire the team that created the game. As part of the deal, Amazon will help promote Giants Walk on Twitch. The deal is expected to be finalized on December 16
There is no release date yet for Giants Walk. Amazon announced the free-to-play game in August, and a closed alpha play test took place the following month. The next playtest will take place in 2026. The next major update for Giants Walk will include “new giants, expanded modes of competition, and fundamental systems designed to support long-term growth.”
Giants Walk is a 4v4 game in which players control giant war commanders. You will lead armies with thousands of soldiers and send them to attack enemy giants. Likewise, you will have to fend off the other team’s minions. You can also deploy reinforcements (called Battleworks) like trenches, tanks, and bunkers to help you win a match.
MOBAs aren’t entirely new territory for Ubisoft. Although ostensibly a third-person action game, For honor also checks all MOBA criteria. Although it clearly sees an opportunity in the MOBA market, Ubisoft will have its work cut out for it to get there. Giants Walk succeed in a space dominated by League of Legends And Dota 2.
Giants Walk was in development at Amazon Games Montreal, a studio created five years ago. Several former Ubisoft employees are returning to the company as part of this deal. Many of them were part of the original creative team behind Rainbow Six Headquartersincluding the founder of Amazon Games Montreal and Giants Walk creative director Xavier Marquis.
