Anti-Vaxxers Rejoice at Florida’s Scheme to End Vaccine Mandates for Kids and Everyone Else
Wednesday afternoon, Florida surgeon, General Joseph Ladapo, has announced that he would argue to end all state vaccination mandates. This would include, among other things, the end of the requirements of the vaccine for children at school. A few minutes after Ladapo’s announcement, members of a private anti-Vaccin Facebook group called The Vaccine Free Child rejoiced.
“Amen, stop the poison application given to our precious children,” wrote a member, with another adding: “F Yah! About time. Let the Revolution begin.”
“I should not have to inject my children with poison because you have undergone brain washing to live in fear,” wrote another member, adding: “I hope that the more Florida’s advance will follow.”
Soon, the members of the group of other parts of the country expressed their desire to have similar measures in their own states. “I’m so jealous! I hope Ga is the next one,” wrote a member, with another adding: “I want the Mississippi to do this but I don’t see that it happens.” Another added: “I hope that will follow suit.”
While many members celebrated, others were looking for medical help. The same day in the group, a member asked for advice to treat darling to cough in his child. The answers included various supplements in vitamins and “onion socks”. (Some people think, without proof, that the trenched onions held near the body absorb viruses and toxins.) Elsewhere in the group, the members recommended hourly administration of chlorine dioxide – a toxic whitening solution – to treat the possible case of a baby. Groups did not only increase the anti-vaccine content; They also distributed unproven and often dangerous medical advice.
The outpouring of joy in the group of children without a vaccine has echoed an online celebration mood among the anti-vaccine community.
“This is how you make America healthy. Will the other states follow the example of Florida? ” Children’s Health Defense, an anti-Vaccin group founded by the American secretary for health Robert F. Kennedy Jr., published on his account X. A few moments later, the group organized a live X space with Dr. Memhet Oz, who directs the centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the wife of Kennedy, the actress Cheryl Hines. (Oz has not discussed Florida’s announcement.)
While the anti-Vaccin community has celebrated, public health experts have criticized Florida’s decision, saying that it will perhaps put the lives of children who will not be protected from diseases such as measles, mumps, chickenpox, polio and hepatitis, which can be avoided by safe and affordable vaccines.
“There are short -term damage, because this announcement alone will undermine confidence in vaccines around the world,” explains Alex Morozov, an oncologist who supervised hundreds of drug trials in several companies, including Pfizer.
For Natalia Solenkova, an intensive care doctor based in Miami who has been fighting against anti -vaccine disinformation for years, the announcement of Ladapo and the celebrations that have followed are not a surprise – and she thinks that the result will be just as predictable.
“Florida has been evolving in this direction for several years,” explains Solenkova. “We know in history that before vaccines, children died of measles, polio, darling and other diseases practicing vaccines. Without vaccines, children will die again. ”
Vaccination rates across the United States which has already been falling in recent years, the impact of the ban on the vaccine mandate proposed by Florida could be devastating. “In the long term, we do not know the impact. There is very little data on what is happening when the mandates are lifted. It is the danger of doing it so suddenly, ”explains Morozov. “Maybe vaccination rates will drop by 10%? Or maybe 50%? No one knows. Higher declines could lead to devastating epidemics.”
