DHS Reveals More Information on Michigan Synagogue Attacker – RedState

In addition to Thursday’s attack in Virginia that left one dead and two injured at the hands of an ISIS-sympathizing gunman who the FBI said shouted “Allahu Akhbar” before opening fire, there was an attack in Michigan involving a gun-toting maniac who rammed his car into a synagogue in a “targeted act of violence against the Jewish community,” according to the FBI.

The attacker died instantly, either because his vehicle caught fire or because the temple security services immediately attacked him. The 140 children who were at the West Bloomfield Township synagogue daycare were unharmed, as were teachers and staff. A member of security personnel was reportedly injured, but is expected to be OK. Eight first responders were also treated.

As Fox News reported, the first details about the attacker were that the “vehicle used in the attack […] is registered to a naturalized Lebanese U.S. citizen who lives in Dearborn, Michigan.

This information has since been confirmed by DHS, which also provided the attacker’s name and other details:

DHS confirms to @FoxNews that Michigan synagogue attacker has been identified as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a Lebanese national who first entered the United States in 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen. He was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2016 during the Obama administration.

The Detroit Free Press also reported that, according to a neighbor, Ayman Mohamad Ghazali lived in Dearborn Heights and had a family member who was killed in an Israeli strike in Lebanon:

The department did not say where Ghazali lived. A neighbor told the Detroit Free Press that he lived in Dearborn Heights, west of Detroit, and recently lost his family in an Israeli strike in Lebanon.

The neighbor said Ghazali had a brother recently killed in Lebanon in an Israeli strike.

Meanwhile, as the wave of terrorist attacks against our country continues, Democrats remain committed to defunding DHS:

There have now been four jihadist attacks on US territory in the past two weeks and our Department of Homeland Security remains shut down by Congressional Democrats in protest of federal immigration enforcement.

Just today, 46 of 47 Democratic senators voted to keep DHS closed.
