Washington – Former disgrace representative George Santos reported on the prison on Friday, starting a sentence of more than seven years after pleading guilty to a list of laundry of federal accusations including fraud by wire, identity theft and money laundering.

He is in detention at the Federal Correctional Establishment Fairton in Fairton, New Jersey, confirmed the federal prison office on Friday.

The New York Flashy Republican, who entered the national scene when he unexpectedly won a siege of the Congress in 2022 and was expelled by his colleagues next year, did not go quietly this week. He appeared on an hour-long podcast, signed up with his disciples on X Spaces and published a series of farewell tweets on X. He also continued to publish videos for supporters on the camée platform until Friday morning, invoicing a minimum of $ 300 per video, according to the site.

“Well, darling … The curtain falls, the spotlights decrease, and the rhinestones are packed. Was chaos of the new cable, what was driving was! Was she disorderly? Always. Glamor? Sometimes. Sometimes. Honest? I tried … Most days,” Santos wrote on X.

“I may leave the scene (for now), but believe me, the legends never really go out,” he continued.

In his live and a half spaces live, Santos, an ally of Donald Trump at the Congress, said that many people had asked if they would have a presidential forgiveness or a switching that could interrupt his 87 -month sentence.

“The answer to this is that I don’t know. You ask the bad person,” he said on Thursday. “The only person who can answer this question is, you know, whoever is the President of the United States – in this case, President Donald Trump.”

The White House did not comment on the question.

Santos’ political career was one of the shortest and tumultuous recent memory. Even before he was sworn in at the office, the New York Times and other points of sale revealed that he had made parts of his curriculum vitae, and the personal story he shared with donors and voters on the campaign campaign began to collapse.

The Chamber’s Ethics Committee has published an investigation report scathing on Santos, concluding that he had probably committed several federal crimes, and the Ministry of Justice charged him with 23 counts, including contributions from the embezzlement of supporters, illegally obtaining unemployment benefits and lying on the financial disclosure of the Chamber.

In the mid-term elections in 2022, Santos was one of the four Republicans who had overthrown seats in New York. But after the report of accusation and ethics, it was these same colleagues from the New York GOP who led the accusation to avoid it from the Congress.

On December 1, 2023, the Chamber voted 311-114 to expel Santos, which made him the sixth person in the history of the United States to be expelled from the House of Representatives.

After his guilty plea, Santos was sentenced to 87 months behind bars last April and ordered to pay nearly $ 374,000 on return and more than $ 200,000 in confiscation.

During his appearances this week, Santos has repeatedly expressed remorse for his lies and actions, even though he was trying to settle the political scores with those who ousted him from the Congress.

“I think we can all attest that I made a chain of choice-in my life, and for that, I am sorry for those I disappointed, to those I let down, to those I caused irreparable damage. I am sorry. I think.

“It’s right, life is sometimes zero and life is difficult,” he said.
