Disgruntled Bronx tenant accused of fatally shooting super reportedly dies at Rikers Island

The unhappy tenant of the Bronx accused of having fatally pulled the superintendent of his building and injuring two people seems to have died while he was detained at Rikers Island on Saturday afternoon, Daily News learned.
Doc officials reported that Jimmy Avila, whose age was given at 34, had been declared dead around 4:29 p.m. in the installation of West Rikers after the EMS rushed to his aid and tried to relaunch it, according to the New York Correction Department.
On the basis of childcare files, the death inmate would be the man arrested for having fatally killed the Super, Ryan Hines, 37 years of the building. Doc not immediately confirmed, but News 12, the Avila station contacted after the shooting, reported late Saturday, quoting sources that the Dead was Avila.
We didn’t know how Avila died.
“Our hearts are heavy with the loss of an individual at our charge,” said Doc Commissioner, Lynelle Maginley-Liddie, in a press release. “We mourn his death and extend our sympathies to his loved ones. We will carefully investigate the circumstances of this tragic event. ”
Avila was detained without deposit after his indictment to the criminal tribunal of the Bronx on Friday. He was to appear in court in the Bronx on September 2. He faced accusations of murder, attempted murder and possession of several weapons for having fatally pulled Hines, 37, in the chest inside the College Ave building. Near E. 170th St. around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officials said.
Avila also struck and injured Orlando Nieves, 62, who was identified by his wife and was a tenant colleague next to Hines when the shooting broke out. Nieves was struck in the arm, with the ball then entering the side of his chest.
“My husband was struck twice,” said the spouse of Nieves, who gave his name only as Ebony, at Daily News. “He attached himself and I pulled him through the door.”
“The super missed, and [the suspect] continued her outside, “she added.
A 59-year-old man, who would be homeless according to News 12, was also shot in the buttocks, while Avila continued to shoot Hines while Avila continued the Super in the backyard, officials said. The injured man later appeared in a hospital in the region and was to recover.
Doctors precipitated Hines and Nieves in a hospital in the region, where the Super died.
After the shooting, Avila, who had history of mental health established with two documented incidents with the NYPD, hid in his apartment on the first floor and contacted News 12 Bronx, saying that he would not go to the arrival of the point of sale.
“I didn’t want to do this, but I had to do it because these people threatened my life,” Avila 12 Bronx told Avila when he called the station.
