Art charity ‘buzzing’ to move into new £75m Gloucester campus

BBC News, west of England
BbcAn art organization Art said that he “absolutely burst” to be part of a downtown university campus of 75 million pounds sterling that officially opened on Monday.
Art Shape, which works with the NHS to deliver all kinds of art as ordinary, has a new house on the campus of the city of the University of Gloucestershire.
The building, which will be a center for 1,200 students and staff, has been transformed from the old Debenhams of Place King’s in Gloucester.
Kate Cox, of the art form, said that the charitable organization would now be able to extend its work connecting creativity to well-being. “It was incredible … to meet so many new partners and various organizations that we are going to work alongside,” she said.

The charitable organization has been taking place in the Gloucestershire since 1993.
Ms. Cox said: “We adopt an integrated approach to well-being, where your medical and clinical health can be very well supported by having a creative and expressive practice alongside that. And there is a lot of evidence and research to support this thought.”
The new campus will welcome students in education, psychology and social work.
The artistic space has entered its center of arts, health and well-being, on the first floor, alongside the teaching rooms.
Ms. Cox said: “People can first feel the advantages of creative health practices, but also learn to apply these things in their education and their medical training.”
“I absolutely buzz,” she added. “It is a magnificent building.”

Alex Cottrell, head of external relations at the University of Gloucestershire, said that City Campus had been designed as a “community campus” rather than a space only for students.
“All our campuses are open, but this in particular was designed to integrate the local community, our students, our local experts and other stakeholders,” she said.
With the County Public Library which is expected to move later this year, the University claims that the building will become a center not only for students, but also for local charitable organizations, companies and the wider community.
