Dodgers Prospect From Dustin May Deal Nearing MLB Debut

The Los Angeles Dodgers got two prospects from the Dustin May trade at the 2025 MLB deadline — outfielder James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard.
The Dodgers have a massive stockpile of outfield prospects, including four of their top five from the consensus rankings.

Tibbs has gotten a good deal of hype, being that he was a former first-round pick, while Ehrhard went under the radar.
Ehrhard, however, has put together an impressive Spring Training this year, his first with the Dodgers.

As a result of his quality start and overall impression that he has made on the organization, he is just as close to reaching the major league level, according to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya.
“While Tibbs, the former first-round pick, got much of the headlines, Ehrhard might be just as close to breaking through to the big leagues,” Ardaya wrote.
“The Dodgers have worked with him to explore new mental cues as he alters his hand position, which has led to solid results, including an .857 OPS after the trade.”
Ehrhard’s post-trade reaction
As a result of the trade, Ehrhard was separated from his brother, Drew, who remained with the Boston Red Sox and played for their Double-A affiliate in Portland.

“It was very emotional,” Ehrhard said. “It was a tough one, because just getting to play with him was such a dream. But afterwards, all my teammates that were there in Portland with me were very supportive and just let me know this was a good thing for me.”
During his 16 games of Spring Training, Ehrhard is hitting .316/.395/.500 with five doubles and a triple, along with four walks and three stolen bases. His opponent rating, according to Baseball Reference, is 7.1, sitting at the Double-A level.
Considering that Double-A is where he has spent the majority of his time recently, it is no surprise that he is delivering, and this start has him set for a Triple-A shot soon.
The Dodgers have to account for Josue De Paula, Mike Sirota, and Zyhir Hope, all three of whom will need time in Double-A. Ehrhard has seemingly taken a step toward freeing up playtime.

Considering Tucker is on a four-year deal, and Hernandez has a short time left on the team as well, these prospects will get their shot soon, especially if Andy Pages does not figure things out at the plate.
