A good story needs a start, an environment and an end. However, with television series which have an uncertain future and which are mainly open for most of their races, an end is not always on the cards.

Investing in a television show is always a risk, because you could stay suspended, just as these five shows have left us.

Created by fire, Grand David Lynch (whose work I love), Twin peaks is one of the most culturally impacts television programs of all time. A mystery spectacle imbued with a healthy dose of surrealism.

The second season of this program ends with a major cliffhanger, and he took 25 years For a third season to get to the screens. The last episode of the second season had several unresolved cliffhangers. There was a film called Fire walks with me about two years after the end of the show and another called Missing piecesBut that and another link material affected only some of the unresolved things and these are prequelles.

It was not until 2017, with the beginnings of the third season, that surviving fans of the show could obtain at least a little closure. Now, I don’t really want to talk about details here, because this is a program where spoilers are a great non-no, but if the third season has never occurred, it could have been the biggest example of staying in the history of television. In addition, the third and last season is anything but money. He is acclaimed by criticism at all levels, and whoever has not seen Twin peaks Can now discover the dream of fever without the intermission of the quarter century.

RIP David Lynch.

My name is EARL – “to be prosecuted” forever

My name is earl is One of these programs that seems to have no legs on paper, but in a way, the premise of a bag on the ground trying to repair his bad karma ran for four seasons and more than 90 episodes.

In each episode, Earl tries to compensate for another bad action of his past, and that makes a big formula with each episode being his own little adventure, but the series also had a lot of global scenarios and, of course, we expect at one point, Earl finishes his list and then – well, we will never know!

The last episode ended with a literal “to continue”, and writing for the fifth season had already started when the network has canceled the show on apparent creative differences with showrunners. It was a question of binding it to a film, as some canceled programs have done in the past, but that has never occurred and everyone has evolved. So did EARL repair his karma? Who was the true father of Earl Jr.? I guess we will all have to go on our graves without solving everything.

This one hurts me more than most, because I am strongly invested in the Terminator franchise and I mean the entire thing. From video games to comics, including all the different deadlines for films, I like everything.

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronic was a fantastic television show that told the story of what happened with Sarah and John after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Lena Headey plays Sarah, which means that two actors in Game of Thrones have now played the role.

This show introduced all kinds of new and interesting traditions to the Terminator universe, including a mysterious faction of machines against Skynet but not necessarily on the side of humans. The show ends with a massive falsive that will simply never be resolved, and they have the audacity to sell the show on DVD …

Terra Nova – Avenir for always unfinished

I think if Terra nova were manufactured today, it would not be canceled for several reasons. First, it would be cheaper to do because the special effects have progressed, and secondly, the public is much more open to science fiction emissions which have more complex premises.

Terra nova To an impressive premise – humans travel in time to restart civilization in the era of dinosaurs. Technically, it is a “parallel” timesty grain, which perfectly erasures or modification of the future and perhaps even a certain extinction event being a problem at a given time.

The colonists, well, settle In life in this “new land” and opposite factions occur while someone also finds how to make the journey between the parallel past and the two -way future.

The whole season accumulates several future conflicts and even introduces another unknown time rift, but the series has not been renewed for a second season. This means that we get a lot of configuration, but no follow -up of the border drama based on dinosaurs.

Voyages – They canceled on September 11, but now what?

Travelers is one of the best science fiction television shows that I have ever seen. The premise is that the future is screwed and humans will not do it because we have destroyed the environment, but we have developed a lot of limit magic technology. We believe that we can send people’s minds in the past, erasing the spirit of the original target person, and using this technology to try to avoid major disasters.

The show follows a team of travelers who do their best to carry out the missions they receive from the future, but, of course, each time they succeed, future changes and new people arriving from the future do not serve the same masters.

The show is absolutely folded, and you cannot drop before looking at everything. Technically, he did End and the show has not been canceled or anything, but the end of teases so many possibilities and the revelation that September 11 was avoided, probably by powers of the future, is a great thing to leave. So, really, it was as if there was at least one more season in the show.

Although I know that the creators of television shows do not make us a satisfactory end, there is little that are as hollow as a story where you never see the end. These are probably far from the last shows where an invested audience will end up disappointed, but I may have to focus on the positive points that we have obtained from each of these series instead?
