Donald Trump in his own words – the year in racism and misogyny | Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s incendiary actions and remarks during the first year of his second presidential term have left many women, people of color, and their allies in dire straits.
Shortly after returning to office, he issued executive orders attacking diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts as well as transgender rights. His January orders calling for an end to DEI and affirmative action led to thousands of cuts across the private and public sectors – and upheaval within the journalism industry. A directive that barred access to gender-affirming care for young people under 19 threw families into a tailspin as they scrambled to ensure their transgender children continued to receive treatment. Another executive order directed his vice president, J.D. Vance, to prohibit federal spending on race-focused Smithsonian programs or exhibits. He also worked to remove indigenous history by changing the name of Denali Mountain again in the Athabascan language to Mount McKinley. And its mass deportation operations tore families apart.
Along with his federal policies, Trump also shared racist, xenophobic, and sexist comments in speeches, press briefings, and on his social media platform, Truth Social, throughout the year.
Here is Trump – in his own words – heading into the second year of his second term.
In the race
And we clean it all up thing … I don’t know, something has to happen, but it’s literally a demolition site right now. Almost everything is demolished and people are dying there, so I prefer to get involved with some Arab countries and build housing in a different place where I think maybe they could live in peace for a change.

Then it was a group within the FAA – another story – that determined that the workforce was too white, that they had concerted efforts to get the administration to change this and change it immediately. It was during the Obama administration, just before I arrived. And we took care of African Americans, Hispanic Americans. We took care of everyone at levels no one had ever seen before. That’s one of the reasons why I won. But they actually issued one directive: too white. And we want competent people.

… Somalia, which is barely a country. They have nothing, they have nothing. They run around and kill each other. There’s no structure… Someone would say, “Oh, that’s not politically correct.” I don’t care. I don’t want them in our country. Their country is not good for a reason. Their country stinks and we don’t want them in our country… We will be on the wrong track if we continue to import garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is trash. She is trash. His friends are trash. These are not people who work. These are not people who say: “Let’s go, let’s make this place great. These are people who just complain.
– On Somalia and Somali American Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, December 2, 2025 cabinet meeting
I love this Ilhan Omar, whatever her name is, with the little turban. I love him. She comes in, just messes around – she always complains. She comes from a country where, I mean, it’s considered the worst country in the world, right? They don’t have an army. They have nothing. They don’t have a parliament. They don’t know what the word Parliament means. They have nothing. They don’t have a police force. They monitor themselves. They kill each other all the time… She married his brother so she could get in. So she is here illegally. She should be fine. Throw her out.

On religion
And Schumer is Palestinian as far as I’m concerned. You know, he became Palestinian. He was Jewish. He is no longer Jewish. He’s a Palestinian.

Think about it: no death tax. No inheritance tax. Not going to banks and borrowing, in some cases from a good banker – and in other cases from shylocks and bad people.

On immigration
I like the smell of deportations in the morning …
– Truth Social, September 6, 2025
I also announced a permanent pause on third world migrations, including those from hellholes like Afghanistan, Haiti, Somalia and many other countries.
– Economic rally in Pennsylvania, December 9, 2025
Why do we only take people from shitty countries, right? Why can’t we welcome a few people from Norway, from Sweden, just a few? …From Denmark. Would you mind sending us a few people? Send us nice people. Does it bother you? But we still take people from Somalia, places that are a disaster, right? Dirty, dirty, disgusting, crime ridden. The only thing they’re good at is attacking ships.

On women
She introduced her Church into the political world in a very unsightly way. She had a mean tone, and was neither convincing nor intelligent… Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was very boring and uninteresting. She’s not very good at her job!

Calm. Calm down, pig.
– On Air Force One, November 14, 2025, when Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey I tried to ask about Jeffrey Epstein’s files
That’s not the question that bothers me; It’s your attitude. I think you are a bad journalist. It’s the way you ask these questions… You are a terrible person and a terrible journalist.
– In the Oval Office, November 18, 2025, to ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce
The author of the story, Katie Rogerswho is responsible for writing only bad things about me, is a third-rate journalist who is ugly, both inside and out.
– Truth Social, November 26, 2025, about a New York Times reporter
Because they let him in. Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person? Because they flew in, along with thousands of other people who shouldn’t be here, and you’re asking questions just because you’re a stupid person.
– At Mar-a-Lago, November 27, 2025, to CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Nancy Cordés
You are the most obnoxious reporter in this entire place. Let me just tell you that you are an obnoxious journalist, a terrible, even a terrible journalist, and it’s always the same with you.
– To ABC reporter Rachel Scott in the White House press corps, December 8, 2025
Marjorie is not AMERICA FIRST or MAGAbecause no one could have changed his point of view that quickly, and his new points of view are those of a very stupid person.
