MLS, Apple TV scrapping Season Pass for ’26 season – sources

Major League Soccer fans will no longer need an Apple TV Season Pass to watch games in the 2026 season, sources tell ESPN.
Sources told ESPN on Thursday that Major League Soccer and Apple TV will make matches available to viewers with an existing Apple TV account.
Viewers will be able to access all regular season matches, the Leagues Cup tournament, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup and the MLS Cup Playoffs with a standalone Apple TV subscription, sources said.
The MLS Season Pass as an additional package within Apple TV will officially end at the end of the 2025 season.
The move comes after the league announced that the 2025 MLS Cup playoffs would be available to all Apple TV subscribers. MLS also made more than 200 regular-season games available to Apple TV subscribers, including all Sunday Night Soccer games, helping the league see an increase in viewership and move forward with the recent change.
“Ultimately, Apple will decide what the distribution is going to be. We’re finishing year three and putting it out on Apple TV so it’s distributed to a wider audience during our playoffs. I think that’s positive,” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said in October. “And we will step back with Apple and figure out what the future distribution will be.”
MLS will join Formula 1 in Apple TV’s global catalog, following the announcement that Apple TV has signed an exclusive five-year deal to become the broadcaster of F1 in the United States starting in 2026.
Major League Baseball also struck a deal with Apple TV to allow subscribers to access Friday Night Baseball at no additional cost.
