Image of Trans Swimmer ‘Lia Thomas’ Getting Honored With ‘Inspiration’ Award Pretty Much Says It All – RedState

There has been a slow but sure movement in recent months toward a restoration of sanity when it comes to the issue of (usually) male-identified transgender athletes competing in girls’ and women’s sports — not only through the efforts of civil rights advocates like Assistant AG Harmeet Dhillon at the 47th Justice Department, but also every day by Americans speaking out against what are clearly injustices in action in public schools across the country. As RedState has reported, one of the areas where there are egregious violations of Title IX is Southern California.
Readers probably remember former University of Pennsylvania swimmer “Lia Thomas,” born Will Thomas, who received medals and other opportunities that should have been reserved for women. Over the summer, some of those wrongs were righted, as UPenn stripped Thomas of all the collegiate titles he had earned.

Now, several professional sports organizations in SoCal have just sponsored a wacky award that was given to Thomas by an LGBTQ+ group during Rainbow Labs’ “Violet Visionary Awards.” He received their “Voice of Inspiration Award” on Thursday evening. Our friends at OutKick were the first to report on it, and they deserve kudos for keeping their eye on the ball (pardon the pun).
At Rainbow Labs’ Violet Visionary Awards on Thursday evening, Thomas will receive the Voice of Inspiration Award. According to the event’s website, this honor is given to “…an individual whose story and actions inspire hope and courage within the LGBTQ+ community.”
…
Sponsors of the “Violet Visionary Awards” are two of Los Angeles’ biggest sports teams, the Dodgers and the LA Football Club. Presumably, they would understand that men have advantages in physical strength over women, since none of their teams or organizations have female athletes playing for them.
…
It is unclear what exactly Thomas did to “ignite hope and courage.”
Riley Gaines spoke exclusively with Outkick about the news and offered some suggestions on the mystery, while also questioning giving the title “voice of inspiration” to someone like Thomas.
“The only people Will Thomas inspires are other men who have realized that you can take everything from women – our records, our spaces, our opportunities – and still get a standing ovation,” she said. “It’s 2025, not 2020. We’re done pretending this is courage.”
Another strong supporter of restoring the rights of women and girls in sports, Jennifer Sey, founder and CEO of XX-XY Athletics, posted an image of the event, calling it “an absolute joke.”
The striking image pretty much says it all:

And not to be outdone, conservative radio commentator Clay Travis pointed out the obvious:

While we’ve seen some encouraging and positive changes – whether it’s that corporate America has put aside its attempts to kowtow to left-wing activists, or that public schools have reduced the number of men in girls’ and women’s sports – the problem unfortunately persists in some quarters.
