This is the incredible moment Ukrainian forces sink a Russian submarine with a maritime drone for the first time in history.

Stunning footage has shown Vladimir Putin’s £300million Kilo-class attack submarine destroyed by ‘Sea Baby’ drones at a key Russian port.

The Ukrainian advanced aircraft entered undetected a vast Russian naval base in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, 1,575 km from kyiv.

In the dramatic footage, a huge explosion sends chunks of debris showering onto other parked ships moments after the sophisticated strike.

This devastating blitz is a major blow to Mad Vlad’s bloody war in Ukraine.

Putin’s multi-million pound ship suffered critical damage following the unprecedented attack and is now out of commission, according to Ukrainian SBU special operations chiefs.

The submarine was used to fire Kalibr cruise missiles at targets in Ukraine, but was brought back to port after recent attacks on Russian tankers.

The 243-foot-long diesel-electric submarine is known by NATO as the “Black Hole” because of its hull’s ability to absorb sound and remain difficult to detect by sonar.

The submarine’s destruction is the latest humiliating defeat for Russian tyrant Putin after he vowed to cut “Ukraine from the sea”.

Taking into account the sanctions imposed, rebuilding the £300 million submarine could cost a whopping £375 million.

This is the first time in history that such an underwater drone strike was successful.

The success of this operation is all the more remarkable since Ukraine began the war with almost no ships of its own.

“Sea Baby” naval surface drones were previously used to chase Russian military ships out of Sevastopol Bay in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The most sophisticated marine drones measure around 5.5 meters long, carry a 250 kilo explosive warhead and have a range of 500 nautical miles.

The state-of-the-art devices are powered by a 300 horsepower engine.

Its plastic shell has two cameras – main and reserve – with daytime and thermal vision.

The drone has a cruising speed of 25 mph and an “attack speed” of 50 mph.

And they can be maneuvered using live images transmitted by their cameras from secret command centers in Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Ukraine’s top negotiator, Rustem Umerov, hailed “real progress” after talks with Trump’s envoys in Berlin.

A U.S. official corroborated the positive progress, saying 90 percent of the issues between Russia and Ukraine had been resolved in the last round of negotiations.

They added that Donald Trump was satisfied with the developments and believed he could get Russia to accept that Ukraine benefit from Article 5 guarantees.

In exchange for Kyiv abandon his NATO candidacy, the Ukrainian leader said he was seeking to Washington to provide “security guarantees” to protect his country from further military attacks by Putin.

Russia has also indicated it is open to Ukraine joining the European Union as part of a peace deal aimed at ending the war.

Ukraine, however, continues to reject US efforts to cede territory to Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin wants Ukraine to withdraw its forces from the part of the Donetsk region still under its control, which is one of the key conditions for peace.

Russia continues to spread terror on Ukraine as 153 drones were fired overnight on Sunday, 17 of which hit targets.

But the Ukrainian leader remains firm in his refusal to cede any territory to Russia, which some say could delay negotiations.

Washington is pushing for a peace agreement to be signed by Moscow and kyiv before Christmas.

Peace talks continued Monday in Berlin between Zelensky and Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.

After today’s meeting, Zelensky said in a message on

kyiv negotiator Rustem Umerov said real progress had been made over the two days.

“We hope that we will reach an agreement that will bring us closer to peace by the end of the day,” he said on social media.

He followed five hours of discussions on Sunday after which Zelensky told reporters that the sticking point was over future security of his nation.

He said he was seeking “legally binding” security guarantees from allies in case Ukraine could not count on NATO membership.
