Denver – Denver (AP) –

The Department of American Education said Thursday that Denver’s public schools had violated the protection of the title IX against discrimination based on sex in education by creating bathrooms entirely in the genre and allowing students to use bathrooms corresponding to their gender identity.

The conclusion followed an unprecedented investigation by Denver’s East High School, marking a lively gap in the department’s investigations under former president Joe Biden.

The investigation started after the school district converted a toilet’s toilet to all genres while leaving another bathroom on the same exclusive floor in boys in January. The school district said it was done following a process led by students and that the bathroom had 12 -foot (3.6 meter) highly for confidentiality and security.

The school district then added a second rest room entirely to the genus on the same floor which, according to him, was intended to respond to injustice concerns. At the time, he said that students would also continue to have access to the toilets specific to gender and bathrooms in all-over.

The Department of Education said that it had offered the school district a chance to voluntarily modify, including the conversion of multi-stage and gender bathrooms to those designated by sex, within 10 days or risk unpertified application measures.

He also wants the district to use biology -based definitions for the words “men” and “women” in all policies and practices related to title IX and to cancel any policy or advice allowing students to use bathrooms according to their gender identity rather than their biological gender.

The conclusions are involved in the midst of the republican administration of President Donald Trump against policies that make allowances for transgender students.

“Denver is free to approve an ideology between the sexes, but it is not free to accept the funds of federal taxpayers and to harm its students in violation of title IX,” said Craig Train, acting deputy secretary of the office of the Department of Civil Rights, in a press release.

Denver public school officials said they had received the results of the survey and “determined our next steps”.

The Trump administration has launched approximately two dozen investigations into transgender policies in schools, including access to sports, locker rooms and bathrooms, according to data compiled by The Hechinger Report, a non -profit press organization. About half of the surveys are concentrated at least in part who manages to use bathrooms in certain school districts from kindergarten to 12th year in Virginia, Kansas, Washington State and Colorado

Trump signed a decree in February to prevent Trans girls from participating in sports teams in accordance with their gender identity. Supporters said that the move has restored equity in sports competitions, but the opponents qualified it as youth against young transgender people.

Federal officials in June determined that the California Ministry of Education had violated the Civil Rights Act by allowing transgender girls to compete in women’s sports teams. Trump officials also continued the Maine for the participation of transgender athletes in Girl sports and launched an investigation into the Oregon Ministry of Education last month, following a complaint from a conservative group concerning transgender girls on female sports teams.
