Dyson’s next-gen Airwrap is smaller, lighter, and more powerful, but it’s the new straightening attachment that really turned my head

- New Dyson Airwrap Co-Eta 2x is smaller and lighter but more powerful
- Introduces the attachment memory and a new cool attachment
- On sale on July 8 in the United States and “September” in the United Kingdom
Dyson has launched a new version of his Airwrap, and he looks better than ever. The new Airwrap Co-Anda 2x is smaller and lighter, but offers more air pressure and more power. The accessories have also been upgraded to amplify the versatility of the styler.
There is now a recognition of attachment and a brand new attachment in aerial mode which seems particularly interesting for those who seek to create elegant and rights styles.
I reviewed the ID Dyson Airwrap and assessed it the best hairdresser on the market. I have not yet tested this one, but if I was a woman in Paris, I would say that Dyson is about to dethrone her own styling with the improved version.
To create this smaller and lighter construction, the Airwrap Co -Eta 2x has had its completely redesigned internal mechanics, with a new hyperdymium 2 engine. Two nice facts on this engine are that it can run nine times as quickly than a F1 car engine, and that the wire powers the engine has only 90 microns wide – which is as thin as a wick of human hair. It can apparently provide air pressure twice and 30% more power more than ID Airwrap, without increasing noise levels, which should mean faster drying, more efficient hair package and more elegant straightener.
You always get the IDCURL function, which changed games on the Airwrap ID, it allows you to launch a personalized loop sequence with the film of a button. Here, barrels can also detect when the hair is completely wrapped, and it is time to start the sequence of ID loops.
Overall, it seems that the gap between Dyson and other Airwrap -Alikes widens – the best Airwrap dupes today cannot even offer loops in the direction of the needles of a watch and needles of a watch on the same barrel, not to mention the automation of the whole process for you. However, I am slightly disturbed to see that Dyson seems to have redesigned the pimples here, exchanging the large and easy to use buttons of the Airwrap ID for the delicate small switches, unnecessarily found on the dyson supersonic r.
Everything is in accessories
As I said, the accessories are where it really is, so let’s look more closely. The previous versions of the Airwrap were mainly oriented towards curling, but the latter iteration amplifies versatility and acts more as a real “multi-style”.
First, the accessories now contain RFID sensors which allow the part of the dryer to recognize on which is cut. Then, it will automatically adapt to optimal temperature and wind speed parameters (the first time) or your last use parameters (thereafter) at each attachment. It is precisely the same thing as on supersonic dwarf And the supersonic hair dryers R, where I found it massively helped to rationalize the style process, which makes it easier than ever to exchange between the tools.
Second, there is a new attachment specially designed for smoothing: the Airsmooth2x, which seems to be inspired by the dyson wet to dry. Two unheated plates come together and explode the hair between them with air, the tension helping to smooth and straighten the wicks when they dry. The plates take place automatically once you have reached the bottom of the hair.
Dyson says that the Airwrap Co-Anda 2x is the only multi-systyler on the upcoming market with six attachments included with the purchase. I’m not sure it is true, but there is certainly a more complete range than you usually get.
There are two beams to choose, with different accessories to adapt to different hair types:
Right -looking ball + corrugated:
- 30 mm curling barrel
- 40 mm curling barrel
- Anti-Snag loop brush
- Round volumin brush
- Air pout attachment
- Fast dryer
Curly wardrobe + Coily:
- Co-and curling curling bar of 40 mm
- Anti-Snag loop brush
- Round volumin brush
- Tension comb
- Wave + loop diffuser
- Fast dryer
You can collect most of the attachments individually if the one you want is not included in the chosen beam. It is also individually available a 20 mm barrel for stricter curls (it is interesting to note that Dyson seems to have already deleted the tapered barrel that he introduced with the ID Airwrap).
“Traditional stylers can damage the hair, but we have always focused on the development of tools that protect hair health while improving without compromising precision and / or performance,” comments the founder of the James Dyson brand. “We are exploiting our expertise in engines, fluid dynamics and materials to improve continuously … It is a question of creating exciting long -term styles using a more intelligent and more effective technology.”
