According to the centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), A total of 20 people in 15 states have been infected with Listeria Stump associated with the current epidemic.
Overall, 19 people were hospitalized for their symptoms and four people died, a person each of Illinois, Michigan, Texas and Utah. A disease in a pregnant person has also led to fetal loss.
The CDC has also noted that the real number of sick people in this epidemic is probably higher than the number reported, and that more states can also have diseases. The possible gap is due to the fact that some people recover without medical care or do not report their diseases.
If there is a chance that you recently bought one of the meals assigned to Walmart, Trader Joe’s or Kroger, Immediately check your refrigerator or freezer and throw them away, or return them to the place of purchase.
If you have had one of the meals in your kitchen, it is also a good idea to clean the refrigerator, surfaces or containers that may have touched the food. (Listeria can survive in the refrigerator and easily spread.)
If you suspect that you may have eaten one of the meals potentially contaminated by ListeriaYou should also keep an eye on the following symptoms, especially if you are pregnant, over 65, or if you have a weakened immune system – and let your doctor know:
- Fever
- Muscle pain
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Stiff neck
- Confusion
- Loss of balance
- Convulsions
These symptoms usually start within two weeks after eating food contaminated by ListeriaBut symptoms can start from the same day or up to 10 weeks later.
