MILWAUKEE – Paul Skenes is one of the most dominant launchers in baseball this season. Even he couldn’t slow down the Brewers of Milwaukee.

The right-hander of the AS of Pittsburgh Pirates became the last victim of Milwaukee after abandoning the first two of the five circuits on Tuesday evening in a 14-0 rout which extended the sequence of victories of the Brewers at 11.

“They are hot at the moment,” said Skenes, who before the Home Run of Sal Flicel had not abandoned a first round in 24 departures this season, the second longest sequence to start a season in the history of the MLB. “I didn’t have my best things today, and they jumped on it.”

The sequence of 11 consecutive Brewers victories is their second in the season and the second longer in the history of the franchise. They are the third team since the Second World War with several sequences of victories of at least 11 games in one season, joining Cleveland in 1954 and the Blue Jays in Toronto in 2015, and the Brewers are the first team of the National League to accomplish the feat since the 1935 Cubs of Chicago.

Despite the success of the Brewers, the Home Runs were not a large part of the equation during most of the season.

The director general of Brewers, Matt Arnold, avoided major changes on the deadline for trade to approach the depth, depending on the players on site to be able to carry the offensive load.

This has borne fruit, because Milwaukee led MLB with 23 circuits since the beginning of August – six per Brice Turang and three others from Andrew Vaughn, who had 32 points produced since he joined the Brewers on July 7 after a lamenting start with the Chicago White Sox.

The percentage of Milwaukee Slugging .567, the basic percentage of 0.393 and 0.960 OPS since the beginning of August are also the best in baseball. Its average in the stick of .323 is tied with Toronto for the best.

It was not in violation either. The brewers’ launchers combined for a 3.09 MPM during the sequence.

Milwaukee’s starting rotation set the tone, approaching only 22 points deserved during the victories sequence. Six of them occurred on Sunday in a rare explosion to start the right -hander Quinn PRIESTER. Aside from its release, the starters of the Brewers granted more than two points deserved only two more times and held opponents to one point or less five times, including Tuesday evening when Freddy Peralta turned six sleeves aimlessly to maintain the sequence.

“It was fun,” said Fronick. “Everyone clicks, the offense seems to ride and our [pitching] did a great job. Obviously, we have marked a lot of races, but they have put a lot of zeros and those on the table in each match and it is a credit for them. “”

A victory against the pirates would give the Brewers a fourth consecutive sway of the series and extend their sequence at 12 games, one in the franchise record when the team opened the 1987 season with 13 consecutive.

A victory would also trigger a promotion of the local restaurant channel George Webb, which has promised to give free hamburgers if the Brewers earn 12 consecutive. The tradition, which started during the days of the former Brewers of the Minor League of the American Association, dissatisfied during the passage of the 13 seasons of the Braves in Milwaukee, but finally materialized in 1987, then again in 2018, when the Brewers closed the regular season with eight consecutive victories before winning four following games to open the after-season.

“I heard about it,” said Peralta. “I am excited for that.”
