President Donald Trump has threatened legal action against author Michael Wolff and Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, insisting that a trove of recently released files linked to Epstein clear him of any wrongdoing.

Trump was aboard Air Force One on a flight to Palm Beach, Fla., on Saturday when he answered a reporter’s question about the more than 3 million files and personal emails linked to Epstein that the Justice Department released Friday.

“It seemed like this guy Wolff was a writer and he was conspiring with Epstein to harm me,” Trump said. “I haven’t seen it myself, but I’ve been told by very important people that not only does this absolve me, but it’s the opposite of what people were hoping for, you know, the radical left, that Wolff, who is a third-rate writer, was conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to harm me, politically or otherwise, and it came through loud and clear.”

Trump said there was a good chance he would sue Wolff and Epstein’s estate “because he was conspiring with Wolff to harm me politically. He’s not a friend.”

In a March 2016 email between Epstein and Wolff reviewed by Fox News Digital, Wolff encouraged Epstein to offer an “immediate counter-narrative” to James Patterson’s book about him, “Filthy Rich: A Powerful Billionaire, the Sex Scandal That Destroyed Him, and All the Justice Money Can Buy.”

“You need an immediate counter-narrative to the book,” Wolff writes. “I think Trump offers an ideal opportunity. It’s a chance to tell a story about something other than you, while at the same time allowing you to frame your own story.”

“Also, becoming anti-Trump gives you some political cover that you decidedly don’t have today,” Wolff continues.

In a previously published February 2016 email, Wolff suggested to Epstein that the disgraced financier was the “bullet” that could end Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Regarding Epstein’s latest document, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told Fox News Digital on Friday that “in none of these communications, even while doing his best to disparage President Trump, did Epstein suggest that President Trump had committed anything criminal or had inappropriate contact with any of his victims.”
