Where the X10 Pro Omni featured rotating mop pads, the Omni C28’s rolling mop pad continually self-cleans to avoid spreading dirt or grime to other parts of the house. Both apply downward pressure, but neither can spot the dirtiest spots on its own, like more expensive, AI-powered robot vacuums will. Still, I was happy to see that it was able to remove some of the large dirt spots in my driveway, even if it didn’t remove them all. It also failed to remove all the cherry juice I intentionally spilled in my routine setup for robot vacuum testing, even after sending the vacuum to do a second cleaning job on one of the spots.

Still, the Omni C28 managed to raise its roller mop high enough when going from mopping my floors to vacuuming my living room carpet that there wasn’t a trace of moisture anywhere. The old X10 wet my colleague Adrienne So’s carpet, but it didn’t wet mine, although my carpet had a fairly low pile. It did a good job vacuuming the carpet, although I could tell the difference in suction between this and the more powerful vacuums I tested.

The base station is nice and compact and includes drying fans for drying the roller mop. This means that there is a slight fan noise in the background for a few hours after using this robot vacuum, which was more annoying than expected, but you can easily place this vacuum’s base station in a less central location in your home so you don’t hear it. You can also set a schedule for the vacuum cleaner to run in the morning and finish its drying job before returning home.

Multi-story madness

My favorite feature about the Omni C28 is that, even at this price, it can still learn multiple maps. Although it can’t climb stairs, you can move it around your house and switch the app’s maps to the floor you’ve moved to. This isn’t new for Eufy, as the older affordable model can do this as well, but it’s nice to see the functionality retained when I’ve tried more expensive robot vacuums that don’t include it. It’s quite simple to use; You will go to maps, select “create new map”, then activate the robot to map. Once the map is created, you will move to that map from the small map icon on the right side, which will label them with numbers in the order you created them.
