Everything leaving HBO Max in January 2026
Well, if you haven’t had enough of a Merry Christmas on HBO Max yet, you better get on it. The end of the month will see a major elimination of Hallmark-like seasonal content. Furthermore, all the films, except the first, Harry Potter franchises are cooling down, as are many classic and popular hits like Taxi driver And Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, aas well as HBO Documentaries and Max Originals.
DC Original Series Pennyworthis one you’ll want to catch before he leaves if you’re a Batman fan. It follows young Alfred Pennyworth in 1960s London as he sets up a security company and eventually begins working with Thomas and Martha Wayne, before Bruce was born. You’ll also want to soak up one of the greatest film adaptations of horror icon Stephen King, Misery, which also features one of the greatest performances of all time from Kathy Bates as a former nurse turned serial killer who holds her favorite novelist captive and subjects him to physical and psychological abuse.
And since we all love a good, breathtaking documentary, I highly recommend watching it The Way Down: God, Greed, and the Cult of Gwen Shamblin. The five-part documentary series examines the rise of the Remnant Fellowship sect, a weight-loss-based Christian church, and its charismatic late founder, Gwen Shamblin Lara, who developed the faith-based diet program Weigh Down Workshop. The documentary series explores his life and controversial teachings, as well as the beliefs and practices of the Fellowship.
