F1 Races Are Hitting Apple TV Screens in 2026

Building on the momentum of his F1 movie and expanding its live sports offerings, Apple announced Friday that it has signed a five-year partnership with Formula 1 to offer races on its streaming service starting in 2026.
The addition of motorsports is exclusive for Apple TV streaming subscribers in the United States. Fans will be able to watch extensive coverage of F1, including Grands Prix, sprint events and practice and qualifying sessions.
The 2026 F1 season is set to begin next March, and Apple says a selection of free races and practice events will also be streamed in the Apple TV app (not to be confused with Apple TV, the streaming service). Viewers will be able to watch the action in English or Spanish.

Beyond race broadcasts, F1 will appear across the Apple ecosystem, including Apple News, Apple Fitness Plus, Apple Music and Apple Maps, similar to the promotional campaign seen for F1 The Movie. The free Apple Sports app will roll out live updates for every race of the season and feature up-to-the-minute leaderboard statistics, as well as “season driver and manufacturer standings, live activities to follow on the lock screen, and a designated widget for the iPhone home screen.”
If you’re wondering about the F1 TV app, your Apple TV streaming subscription will include F1 TV Premium in the US at no additional cost. The offering – which includes multi-view cameras, live in-car cameras and team radios – is aimed at new and existing F1 TV subscribers, Ian Holmes, F1’s director of media rights, said at a press briefing on the partnership.
Faced with the growing popularity of F1, its CEO Stefano Domenicali, alongside Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, expressed their enthusiasm for this new collaboration and the increase in its audience in the United States.
“2026 marks a new era of transformation for Formula 1, with new teams, new regulations and cars with the world’s best drivers, and we look forward to bringing our customers premium, innovative fan-focused coverage in a way that only Apple can,” Cue said.
“This is an incredibly exciting partnership for Apple and all of Formula 1 that will allow us to continue to maximize our growth potential in the United States with the right content and innovative distribution channels,” Domenicali said in a statement.
An Apple TV subscription costs $13 per month in the US, but it’s also available as a bundle with Comcast’s StreamSaver and the new Peacock plan.
