NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
What if you could write your own episode of a successful show without crew or cameras, only an invite? This is exactly what a San Francisco startup called Fable aims to do with its new artificial intelligence platform, Showrunner.
Now he has the support of Amazon via the Alexa Fund. Although the exact amount of the investment has not been disclosed, Amazon’s participation signals an increasing interest in the entertainment powered by AI. Fable describes Showrunner as the “Netflix of AI”, a place where anyone can type a few words and instantly generate an episode.

Hollywood turns to AI tools to reclaim the magic of the film

A new era of entertainment generated by users
Instead of watching shows passively, Showrunner invites users to co-create them. You can build an episode from zero or jump into a world that someone else has started. Everything is done through text: simply describe the scene or the story, and the AI gets to work. The company was officially launched with Exit Valley, a lively satirical series taking place in a fictitious technology center called SIM Francisco. Think of Family Guy, but intended for the Titans of Silicon Valley like Elon Musk and Sam Altman. It is upset, funny and entirely propelled by AI. If you are curious, go to the Showrunner website and you will be directed to their Discord server, where the episodes are broadcast, and new ones are made in real time.

Supported by Big Tech, led by a veteran of virtual reality
The CEO of Fable, Edward Saatchi, has a story to push the limits. Before launching fable, he co -founded Oculus Story Studios, an Oculus VR division acquired by Meta. His last mission: Turn Hollywood of a unidirectional broadcast in a two -way conversation.
“Hollywood streaming services are about to become two -way entertainment,” Saatchi told Variety. “The public will be able to make new episodes with a few words and become characters with a photo.”
This vision has already started to take shape. Fable previously published nine episodes generated by South Park which have accumulated more than 80 million views. These episodes were made with the engine of owner of the company, refined for the animated narration.

Why the animation comes first
Currently, Showrunner focuses entirely on animated content and it is not an accident. According to Saatchi, animation is much easier to manage for AI than photorealist video. While technology giants like Meta, Openai and Google run to create realistic AI videos, Fable avoids this battlefield. Instead, the startup wants to give users every day the tools to become writers, directors and even stars of their own shows. All you need is a bit of imagination and a few lines of text.
What it means for you
Whether you are a writer, an animation fan or just someone who is curious about AI, this change opens the door to a brand new type of entertainment. You no longer need a Hollywood budget to tell a story. If you have a creative idea, you can give it to life instantly and share it with a community that does the same. Showrunner gives you the power to shape pop culture, not just consuming it. You can even remix existing episodes or jump into a world generated by AI with your own twist.
