One of the best 2025 Fantasy basketball players the model predicts: Milwaukee Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr., who is barely selected among the top 100 picks in many drafts. Despite struggling through the first 45 games of last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, he was a huge game-changer once acquired by the Bucks. He finished the regular season shooting 40.8 percent from 3-point range in his final 30 games with Milwaukee, averaging 11.7 points per game.
In the playoffs, he continued to light it up from top to bottom, hitting 46.7% of his 3-point shots, averaging 11.2 points in five games. Porter is expected to be the Bucks’ starting point guard and is just one of two players on the 2025-26 roster to average 2.9 assists or more. During his career, Porter averaged 4.6 assists per game. Best Fantasy Basketball Breakouts 2025

As for players to avoid, the model lists Pelicans guard Jordan Poole as a fantasy basketball bust. Poole was acquired by the New Orleans Pelicans from the Washington Wizards during the offseason. Despite his somewhat high numbers, he finds himself in a situation where he needs to be a complementary piece to Zion Williamson. He may also have to play a lesser role behind New Orleans’ two lottery picks, Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears. If they emerge during their rookie season, Poole could certainly see his production decline.
