FDA commissioner talks push to loosen testosterone restrictions : NPR

A panel of health experts from the Food and Drug Administration met Wednesday to discuss and promote the benefits of testosterone treatments for men’s health.
FDA Commissioner Martin Makary said Morning edition Low testosterone is thought to be associated with symptoms in about a third of men who suffer from it, although he said the evidence and data are not fully defined. Symptoms can include “reduced mood and vitality,” Makary said.
Speaking to NPR’s Steve Inskeep, Makary explained why the FDA wants to reconsider medical access to testosterone and the stigma associated with its use.
