FIFA Joins Forces With YouTube for World Cup 2026

FIFA is working with social apps and streaming platforms to expand the reach of the 2026 World Cup. On Tuesday, the global football organization announced it had entered into a “groundbreaking partnership” with YouTube, marking it as a preferred platform to offer fans the tournament experience in new ways. FIFA has struck a similar case with TikTok earlier this year.
Instead of just watching the games on TV, this new deal aims to expand and improve the viewing experience. World Cup approved broadcasters will be able to broadcast live the first 10 minutes of each match throughout the tournament. The goal, so to speak, is to encourage streaming viewers to finish watching the games through more conventional TV viewing methods.
FIFA media partners will have access to a number of games, which will be available in full on their YouTube channels. A global selection of YouTube creators will have access to all angles of these matches, allowing them to create their own personalized World Cup-themed content to provide new perspectives, match details and other behind-the-scenes content.
Viewers will also be able to access the FIFA World Cup digital archive on YouTube, which will include “complete past matches and many other iconic moments from the sport’s history.”
“This collaboration with YouTube reinforces our ambition to maximize the impact of the tournament in an ever-changing media landscape, providing fans around the world with easy access to an immersive view of the biggest single-sport event in history,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström.
The global football tournament, which begins on Thursday June 11 and ends on Sunday July 1, will take place in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
In the United States, soccer fans can watch the 2026 World Cup live on Fox and FS1. If you want to watch the games without cable, subscribe to one live TV streaming service that includes these channels, such as YouTube TV, is your best bet. Each game will also be flow live Fox One and the Fox Sports app.
