Five people who died in collision with Gary train identified

The Coroner’s Coroner office of Lake released the names of the five people in their twenties who died when the police said they driven their vehicle around the doors crossing the trains and was hit by a southern bank train on Wednesday evening.

Around 10:02 p.m. on Monday, the police service was sent at the intersection of the US 20 and rue Utah on the north side of the Aetna district of Gary, according to a press release from the city. Gary firefighters and firefighters found five dead who had been ejected from a seriously damaged SUV following a collision with a train.

The Coroner press release said that all the deceased resided in Bloc 4000 on Harrison Street – De’Mario Craig, 24, Maurice Parrish, 20, Sherise Parrish, 20, Latianna King, 20, and Bryon Towns, 21, have undergone multiple Francs. A post-distributing journalist spoke to people at Harrison Street, but they refused to comment on the people killed in the accident and asked the journalist to leave.

The liberation of the coroner did not explain how they can be linked. Toxicology reports are pending for the five.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the train hit the vehicle after bypassing an active railroad crossing, police said.

Gary’s advisor Lori Latham, D-1st, whose district includes the accident site, expressed condolences to the families of people killed.

“Please remember all the people involved in your thoughts and prayers, including families and relatives of those whose life has been terribly short, train engineers, drivers and staff and our first stakeholders,” said Latham in the press release. “While the investigators continue their work to determine the complete circumstances surrounding the accident, I must take advantage of this opportunity to urge all residents to remain vigilant and cautious during level passages. Security must always be our shared priority. ”
