Five Ways to Type Faster on Your Phone

There is a mobile productivity hack that works, no matter what you are trying to do on your phone, or in which application you: be able to type faster. Whether you fill out a web form or send a group chat message, the entry of your text saves you more quickly the seconds and minutes that can be added.

And there are more ways to do so you don’t think so – keyboard shortcuts hidden from new approaches to type text. Try one or more of these methods and you should be able to cut more time to spend the screen of your phone (or compose even more messages on your mobile).

Sliding to type

The slide to type is an option on many keyboards.

Rather than lifting your finger and tapping again for each letter, you can simply slide to type: press the first character of the word, then slide towards the following, and so on, until the word is finished. Once you have used it, it can really speed up your seizure. This is actually activated by default on pixels and iOS, but must be activated on the Samsung keyboard.

To manage the functionality on the pixels, press the speed icon on the keyboard then Sliding typing. On iPhones, head to the settings and then press General> Keyboard> Slides to type. On Samsung phones, you must turn it on: press the equipment icon on the keyboard, then choose Swipe, touch and feedback> keyboard scanning colleges> swipe to type.

Textual shortcuts

If you find yourself typing the same sentences again and again in your messages, you can save them in the form of shortcuts which are triggered by a personalized code: so each time you type “OMW”, “you will see” on my way “appear as a suggestion, for example.

On the pixels, these shortcuts can be managed by pressing the gear icon on the keyboard, then Dictionary> Personal dictionaryThen your current language: Press the + (More) icon in the upper right corner to add a shortcut.

On Samsung phones, press the speed icon on the keyboard, then Textual shortcuts To add or delete shortcuts. If you are on an iPhone, text shortcuts can be managed from General> Keyboard> Text replacement in the settings.

Hand

We have already written on how to facilitate the use of your phone in one hand on Android and iOS, but it is worth repeated here. If you only have one hand, it can seriously slow down your typing speed, but it is not necessary.

With the keyboard open on Android, press the four squares at the top left (pixels) or the three points at the top right (Samsungs) to find the In one hand The button, which pushes the keyboard on one side or the other (use the arrow to change).

If you are on an iPhone, open the keyboard, then press and hold the globe icon (bottom left). A series of icons appears, allowing you to push the keyboard to the left or right, or send it back to its normal size.

Use your voice

You probably do not want to dictate a personal message to your partner so that the whole metro car can hear, but if you are busy on other work, the voice contribution is a practical alternative. Depending on your typing speed, you might find that it helps you spend more quickly through your messages.

It could not be easier to allow. Each default keyboard has a microphone icon: top right on the pixels, bottom left on Samsungs and bottom right on iPhones. Press the button, then start talking – and you can also talk about punctuation.

Android and iOS allow you to install alternative keyboards and switch to each other, and you could see that they help you type faster: look at the typewriter for example, for Android or iOS, which brings larger buttons, a multitude of customizations and the possibility of slipping the type mentioned above.
