Flight to Seoul diverted to Munich after pilots smell burning
An Air France flight linking Paris to Seoul was diverted to Munich on Sunday after a burning smell was detected in the cockpit, the airline said.
The plane landed in Munich in the early evening, according to the airport. The crew chose to land as a precaution, the airline said, adding that the cause of the burning smell was not yet clear.
An airport spokeswoman said the plane was towed after landing. There were no injuries among the passengers, who were taken to the terminal, where terminal staff and airline employees attended to them.
According to the airline, a return flight to Paris was planned for later in the evening. If necessary, accommodation would be provided there for passengers. The airline could not say when a replacement flight to Seoul, South Korea’s capital, would follow.
