Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan reprimanded for profanity-laced tirade at NCAA baseball regional

Gainesville, Florida (AP) – The Baseball Committee of Division I of the NCAA published a public reprimand on Friday in Florida coach, Kevin O’Sullivan, for aggressive behavior and a language of blasphemies led by the administrators of the site for the regional of Conway, in South Carolina.
The committee said that O’Sullivan’s actions violated an NCAA regulation which indicates that misconduct in a championship event is “any act of dishonesty, anti -owned conduct, non -professional behavior or violation of the law, occurring from the moment when the championship field is announced until the end of the championship, which discredits the event or inter -school.”

O’Sullivan apologized publicly on June 2, the day after his tirade. Florida also suspended O’Sullivan for the first three games of the 2026 regular season.
O’Sullivan was turned upside down because the start time for the elimination match of his team against the Eastern Carolina – a defeat of 11-4 – was rejected by one hour. The previous match of the East Carolina had ended at midnight.
The videos of the O’Sullivan tirade circulated largely on social networks. Kevin Schall, coach of the Coastal Carolina host, tore O’Sullivan for the explosion at a press conference later in the day.
“He is a national champion coach who thinks he can come here and try to intimidate people,” said Schnall at the time. “Disappointed. Disappointed someone that many coaches admire, to act in this way.”
